Grant Terms
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as “Terms”) govern the application, selection, and disbursement process for the charitable grant (hereinafter referred to as “Grant”) provided by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub. By applying for or accepting the Grant, you (the “Applicant” or “Recipient”) agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, as well as any additional guidelines, policies, or instructions issued by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub.
The Grant is designed to support charitable organizations in their efforts to achieve social, environmental, or community-oriented goals. The primary objective is to provide financial support to organizations working on impactful programs or initiatives, while ensuring compliance with the applicable laws and regulations governing charitable activities.
2. Eligibility Criteria
2.1 Charitable Status
To be eligible for the Grant, the Applicant must be officially recognized as a charitable organization within its respective country. This status must be supported by relevant documentation, such as tax-exempt certificates, registration with government authorities, or other official proof of charity status as recognized by local laws.
2.2 Geographic Eligibility
The Grant is open to charitable organizations globally, irrespective of geographic location, provided the organization meets the legal and regulatory requirements for operating as a nonprofit or charity within its jurisdiction.
2.3 Types of Organizations
Eligible organizations include but are not limited to:
• Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
• Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
• Foundations
• Educational Institutions (with charitable status)
• Social Enterprises with nonprofit status
2.4 Exclusions
The following entities are ineligible to apply for or receive the Grant:
• For-profit businesses
• Individuals or private persons
• Political organizations or those engaged primarily in lobbying or advocacy of partisan political agendas
• Organizations involved in illegal activities or those whose programs promote violence, discrimination, or exclusion based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity
• Organizations that are not in good standing with their respective country’s regulatory bodies
3. Application Process
3.1 Submission of Application
Applicants must complete and submit an online or paper-based application form as prescribed by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub. All required fields and supporting documentation must be provided in full. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
3.2 Application Period
Applications must be submitted within the designated application period, as outlined in the official announcement. The deadline for all submissions is October 31, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (PT). Applications received after this date and time will be disqualified from consideration.
3.3 Required Documentation
Applicants may be required to submit the following documents:
• Proof of charitable status
• Recent financial statements
• Program proposal or project outline
• Organizational budget, if applicable
• Letters of recommendation or references (if requested)
• Any other documentation specified by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub
4. Use of Funds
4.1 Permissible Use
The Grant funds can be used for the following purposes:
• Supporting and expanding existing programs
• Developing new charitable initiatives or projects
• Covering operational costs, such as administrative expenses, staffing, office supplies, and rent
• Purchasing equipment or resources necessary for the program or organization’s activities
• Any other purpose clearly outlined in the approved Grant proposal
4.2 Prohibited Use
The Grant funds may not be used for the following:
• Personal expenses unrelated to the organization’s activities
• Political campaigning or lobbying
• Payment of fines, penalties, or other legal liabilities
• Investment in for-profit ventures
• Any activity not approved by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub or inconsistent with the Grant application
4.3 Budget Reporting and Reallocations
The Recipient must adhere to the budget outlined in their Grant proposal. Any reallocation of funds between different budget categories must be requested in writing and approved by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub prior to any expenditure outside the original scope.
5. Disbursement of Funds
5.1 Grant Award and Notification
The selected organizations will be notified by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub via email or other official communication channels. Upon selection, the Recipient must sign an agreement accepting the Grant and affirming compliance with these Terms.
5.2 Payment Schedule
The Grant will be disbursed in one or more installments as determined by The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub. The schedule and method of payment will be outlined in the Grant Agreement. The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub reserves the right to delay or withhold payments if the Recipient is found to be in breach of these Terms or if the required reports are not submitted on time.
6. Reporting Requirements
6.1 Progress Reports
Recipients are required to submit regular progress reports detailing how the Grant funds have been used, the progress of the funded project or program, and any measurable outcomes or impact achieved. These reports must be submitted as per the schedule outlined in the Grant Agreement.
6.2 Final Report
At the conclusion of the Grant period, the Recipient must submit a final report summarizing the use of the funds, the outcomes of the project, and lessons learned. The final report must include both narrative and financial sections, clearly demonstrating compliance with the original Grant proposal.
6.3 Financial Reporting
The Recipient must provide detailed financial reports, including receipts and invoices, to verify that the Grant funds have been used appropriately. These reports will be subject to review, and The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub reserves the right to request additional documentation or conduct audits.
7. Monitoring and Evaluation
7.1 Site Visits
The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub may conduct site visits to observe the progress of the funded project or program. The Recipient agrees to facilitate such visits and provide access to relevant personnel, documents, and records.
7.2 Audits and Financial Reviews
The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub reserves the right to conduct financial audits or reviews of the Recipient’s records related to the Grant. The Recipient must retain all financial records, including receipts and invoices, for a period of at least five (5) years following the conclusion of the Grant.
8. Termination and Repayment
8.1 Termination for Breach
The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub reserves the right to terminate the Grant Agreement and demand repayment of all or part of the Grant if the Recipient is found to be in violation of these Terms or engaged in fraudulent, unethical, or illegal activities.
8.2 Voluntary Termination
The Recipient may voluntarily terminate the Grant by providing written notice to The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub. In such cases, the Recipient may be required to return any unspent funds and submit a final report covering the activities up to the date of termination.
8.3 Return of Funds
In cases where the Grant is terminated for breach or voluntary reasons, the Recipient agrees to return any unspent or misallocated Grant funds within thirty (30) days of termination notice.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Ownership of Work
Any intellectual property developed as a result of Grant funding remains the property of the Recipient unless otherwise agreed in writing. However, The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub retains the right to use descriptions, reports, and summaries of funded projects in its communications, promotional materials, and reporting.
9.2 Use of Name and Logo
The Recipient agrees to allow The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub to use its name, logo, and a brief description of the funded project in its public communications, including but not limited to websites, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
10. Liability
The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub shall not be held liable for any claims, damages, or losses resulting from the Recipient’s activities, whether directly or indirectly related to the use of the Grant funds. The Recipient agrees to indemnify and hold The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub harmless from any legal or financial liability arising from the use of the Grant or any actions of the Recipient.
11. Amendments to the Terms
The Micro Charity Grant offered by Good Work Hub reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. In the event of a change, all Grant recipients will be notified, and any changes will be effective immediately unless otherwise stated.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction]. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [Jurisdiction].
13. Use of Good Work Hub Platform and Marketing Communications
The Micro Charity Grant includes tools and support. By applying for the Grant, the Applicant also agrees to the terms and conditions of Good Work Hub, to receive marketing communications from Good Work Hub and to be granted access to the platform. These communications and access include other relevant information provided by Good Work Hub. If the Applicant does not agree to these terms, they are advised not to apply for the Grant. Alternatively, the Applicant may withdraw their application at any time by emailing team@microcharitygrant.org with a formal request to remove their application from consideration and to opt out of receiving any further communications.
14. License to use submission materials
By submitting an application for the Grant, the Applicant grants Good Work Hub and its licensees, successors, assigns, and designees a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, sub-licensable, non-exclusive right and license (herein referred to as “License”) to use the Applicant’s entry, including all text and materials included therein, in whole or in part, in any manner and on any media and through any means now known or hereafter devised, including, without limitation, online in the advertising, promotion, and publicity of the grant and future grants, and for any other purposes as determined by Good Work Hub.
15. Acceptance of Terms
By applying for the Grant, the Applicant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
